What Next?

I wasnt quite sure where to put this so I hope its ok that I stuck it in here, its not so much "how do I do that" but more "what should i do next?"

This is entirely from a coding point of view, which is the area I think I need to develop most.

I can do html/xhtml fine, css I can do fine, but I haven't used it much for the actual layout, the sites I've done have been pretty imageheavy (made in cs2 and spliced), so I've mainly used css just for the content rather than layout, can do basic javascript rollovers etc, and I've started learning php, working style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Hey there,

Things you should do next:
* HTML - try coding from scratch. Don't bother about images, just work out how to imitate various structures
* JavaScript - try out jQuery, a really easy library with some great JS tutorials
* PHP - a content management system - simple as.
Hi Neurotoxin I guess the question to be asking yourself here is what direction do you want to head in in web - design or development?

From the sounds of it you've already had some exposure to development and have a head for it. Thankfully these days you'll find most (decent) employers will hire style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Really it comes down to deciding if you want to do design or development and making more specific decisions from there.
I used to be heavily into splicing images up in imageready and letting it create my layouts too. The way I learnt to build up a fully css dependant layout was to recreate style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
AJAX is a culmination of HTML, JavaScript, and PHP. As such, it would be best to learn each seperately before trying to combine them in any moderate way.
I would say stick to style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
