What are the things needed/required to modify a skin [ knowledge-wise]

yeah i wanna know what it takes to modify a skin of vbulletin..as i plan to modify the juice skin frm vbstyles..

You must have Adobe Photoshop

1. Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop (of course) for editing the logo, buttons, etc.

2. Knowledge in HTML, XML, CSS.

1 one wont be a problem..and 2nd one...i m a starter but i am aware i hav much to learn..how good should i have to be in order to just modify a skin?

It really depends on what you want to do, if your just gonna change the colors then photoshop it what you need and then just replace the old images with the new, you will also need to spend a little time in:

admincp>>Styles & Templates>>Style Manager

to match up the font colors and such

If you want to totally tranform it then this is probably the best place to learn coding:
