Is it better to stick to 3.7.X? Or better to upgrade and then carry on developing?

its always good to keep your forum running the latest version of vb... i am at 3.8.2 and its not that much different except some small things.

i would suggest you wait untill vb 4 to update cuz thats gunna be SICK!!!!

I tried to upgrade and got this error

Warning: require_once([path]/plugins/icc_global_start.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/global.php(400) : eval()'d code on line 318

I know I'm wrong somewhere , but where? can anyone help me please?

Code:
Line 318 > $globaltemplates = array_merge($globaltemplates, array(

I followed the Quick Install Guide Of Hoxxy, I actually uploaded all new files to a separate directory, but used the same old database for this one? Is that rite? :$

Ohh i got it , these errors are the mods i installed in the previous version.. but isnt there anyway to just backup the database for original vb tables. I'mean not including extra modifications ..?

Here is a quick guide on how to upgrade if you guys don't understand 100%

Before starting the process it is recommended to use validator to verify the files, but I do not bother...

1. Overwrite all your current php files with the new php files, and edit your /includes/config.php properly
2. CHMOD ALL files and directories to 777
EXCEPT the public_html (755) and /keygen.php (644)
3. Run the /keygen.php file from your browser, and copy down your customer and license numbers
4. Delete /keygen.php from FTP and CHMOD all files back to 644 and all folders back to 777
5. Go to /install/upgrade.php or /install/install.php in your browser (depending on if you are upgrading or installing fresh)
6. Enter your keygenerated customer number and complete the installation
7. Return to FTP and delete:
/checksums.md5
/dgt_released.nfo
/validator.php
/file_id.diz
/keygen.php (If you havent already)
/install/install.php
/install/upgrade.php
/install/init.php

By deleting all the files above it assures you that others will have NO WAY of proving you are using nulled (other than vBulletin staff)

Hope this helps :)

Whats the purpose of deleting init.php can you tell me?

Also is it really a risk to leave upgrade.php can anyone just enter any customer number and enter the upgrade system??

thx

Maybe someone can help.

I uploaded everything to my server. when i try and run keygen when everything is 777 i can't gives me some sort of internal server error. but on 755 it runs fine and says everything worked fine...

am i doing somthing wrong?

Hoxxy, DGT the last release isn't 3.8.2 it's 3.8.1 check it out
Online tool: v[dot]grinderz[dot]org

Don't trust it's changed script, you'll get lot of spam to your forum and also might be a risk of spying. Be carefully before starting to use it.
