Installing a nulled board is a stand alone decision that you will have to take. It pays dividends to listen and take on board the advice offered by those with experience in running nulled boards and scripts.
With regard to the chances of being shut down? I am supposing that this will have a lot to do with how you go about letting people know you have installed a nulled board. The less you tell, the less there is to turn on you. This is also includes advertising your site and board around the place, even in Pm's, unless you know for sure that you can trust them with details of your site.
I would also suggest to be careful when you choose a host, and not to hassle the host for assistance where your forum is concerened, you just never know when one of the hosting techs take a peep into your files and see something amiss, assuming that they know what to look for.
On another point, always go with a trusted nulled release, for instance at present I go with GYSN, previous to that I went with vbTeam.
I would suggest using an anonymizer of some sort, which will at least prevent anyone from your site leaving footprints elsewhere.
There are some members here who have been running nulled boards for a long time, and on many sites. It's a risk you take, and if you are fretting about being rumbled and shutdown, then I would also suggest you regular backup both the database and files, and keep the backups locally, so that if you need to go legit with the 'fishal org. then at least you will still have your members and the necessary data to have your board up and running again.
Hope this helps in the way of some positive advice, and I'm sure others here will be able to add to it.
