Does it matter how many keywords you insert and do the SE's take priority on the order of the keywords? I've read that keyword meta tags hold very little value, especially in Google.
Better off working on your keywords within your content. Well...Some says that meta tags are no longer important...Can anybody share ideas regarding this topic... meta tags are the definition for site, like description, title and KW, it is the first one to appear on SE list... Quantity of KWs doesn't matter IMO and i think, what you mean is Keyword Prominence.

AFAIK, it can affect your site's status as Search Engines use this as one of their factors in rankings.

When you place your KWs at the top of the page (i.e. header / title), SE tends to treats 'em (the keyword) special.

So it's recommended that you place your important keywords in title, header, body, important MEta tags meta tags & description are just to define what your site is all about. and in some little way, it also enhance your keywords position (in a little way) in the SERP. I agree. Meta tags are the definition for site which helps S.E's to crawl and recognize easily. Only title tag has importance other tags have no importance in SEO Title tags are important in terms of SEO..also google may use meta description tag for snippets...however meta keywords are no longer used in ranking process by google... Recently i read an article that Yahoo Search No Longer Uses Meta Keywords Tag. Yes, definetly meta tags are imporatant ..

Meta tags are part of on page optimization and In Meta tag, there are Title, Description and Keywords.. Its really helpful in seo.. Google give very less importance to Meta Keywords because Title and description are important and helpful for the website. I think they're one of those things you should just do properly anyway. It's a 5 minuit job to do the meta description and if all you get from it is 5 more conversions over the year because the text apearing in the SE is relevent then it has still been worth 5 minuits. and the keywords take about 30 seconds, even if they have very little value so what, it was only 30 seconds. I'm sure somebody once said something about being safe not sorry...... Keywords in the metatitle are very important. And their order also plays the role in the position of your site in Google. But it's not necessary if they stand one by one.

If your keyword is "Prada shoes" you can write "Prada designer shoes" but it's not good to have "shoes from Prada". The Keywords Meta tag is no longer effective because Google takes a look at the incoming links to determine what the sites are about. Web page optimization means the whole page..thats
