i want to update my board from 3.8.0 RC2 to 3.8.1 so here the question.
It's an update ~ no installation.
Should i have to replace the old files with the new files?
I had just Newinstallations before.
i mean,
Should i have to pack the files from 3.8.1 in the "normal" Boardfolder on the FTP-Server.
Or shoult i have to build an new folder in the Boardfolder?
So...my English is crapy. I don't know how i could explain you what i mean.
Must i pack the new files in the the folder with the old files and replace them with the new files?
Or just the install folder?
What should i do?
web25/html/Board (replace the old files with the new and "executable" the update.php)
or
web25/html/Board/Update (and then from there start the update?)
i edit the config.php with the old mysql dates.
Also, if i replace the old files with the new one, i have to install all plugins and addons for new isn't it?
Cause, if i replace the old files, all the files i editet for Addons (Example: Thank You System, Hide Hack, etc. all files where i have to edit the templates or *.php files) and replaced them with the new one. So the old things are deleted isn't it? And i have to install all thing at new.
What i have to do? Can Somebody help me? How can i secure update my forums?
The *.txt file in the downloaded *.rar folder is crapy.
I don't Understand one word from that txt file.
