Overall thoughts

About the skin, I just installed some stupid forum on my server, on MyBB, and I got some nice style.

Check it out:
Code:
http://0x00.pl/f0fce547e692b966f255efb0819cd07d/

(do not care about what's in there, this forum is a joke anyway ;) worry about the skin.)

I'm sure it'd be easy to make this kind of style for vbulletin too, because mybb is almost identical to vb. It'd be great if we'd have this kind of style in white and black :)

i think u should mixed tech and that skin up like using the using tech background and header and using inside forum from 0x00

No image background, no image buttons, no image menu...

All this can be done nicely with CSS -.-

Lol, you don't like images do you? I think images for the tcat, thead, and navigation sections make the forums look much nicer but don't think we need a background image.

I can put in $20 if that would help increase bandwidth so we can have some images.

:D

I'd put $500 if we could have some good hosting in europe/usa with good bandwidth (and that would allow our kind of warez ;) )

And yes, I don't like images very much. With CSS you can have gradient, nice buttons, change their style when you hover on them, etc, etc. All this at least 10 times faster (and nicer, for me). Most skins have gradient images for tcat and thead, so why not use CSS instead of img?

In navigation, I'd prefer CSS tabs (like in SimpleTabs or on 0x00).

I'm not saying much about the logo, though... I leave logo for you... But if it was me, I'd use CSS as well :D

I like the tabs on the simple style and on 0x00, except I think the navigation should be a different color than the header.

If we can use CSS to create gradients for the tcat and thead then we should, same with the buttons. I saw some cool examples of buttons people have made using CSS with hover effects, they were nice. That would definitely decrease load times. I have basic knowledge of CSS but creating things like that may be over my head, but it seems like you guys have that under control.

Anyway, I edited first post;

I will upgrade vBulletin this weekend, as well as plugins and/or will install some interesting ones if needed.

If I will find some time, I will also create a theme, something that I have in my head. It might not be perfect -.-

also still would love to see the Request Mods section to be like Request 3.6 mods, Request 3.7 mods and Request 3.8 mods....

makes it alot easier for people to reqeust and receive the right stuff :)

I suppose we'll also have to open a new section for vBulletin 3.8 once some nulls show up :)

I can get vBulletin releases if someone here wants to null it and release it under vBTEAM like we used to or we can continue using GYSN or DGT.

Yeah, we should definitely organize the requests sections a little bit for each version.

well think alot of sections can be prunned also... some section like the How To go back to april 2008 think this section and a lot of others can have a 2 month limit, maybe a autoprune hack, so that after 2 months all x posts before that will be pruned to Trash, also trash can be autopruned after x months so the database and trash will be empty

Hmm, I don't think we should prune good topics and post. Some users still find some interesting things there, even after 2 months. Plus, it's good for SEO ;)
