The other day I bought a short domain to use as my own tiny URL generator. i.e. I just make pages 301 redirect to other URLs.
Then I noticed it had a lot of spider activity, so I decided to look into its backlinks, and it has over 500 links from 157 domains to 131 different pages.
It's an Asian domain (to). It looks like it was some sort of Japanese Hot Springs and Directory. The owner changed to a jp domain and used a refresh redirect to move people on until the domain expired. Which is interesting evidence that refresh redirects are a bad move.
Anyhoo, I now own this domain. Any advice on how to best take advantage of its backlinks?
