Just wanted to let you guys know that I have noticed in the last couple of days heavy googlebot activity throughout our websites. Googlebot seems to be going much deeper than normal which may be a good sign that Google may be updating backlinks and PageRank in the near future. To be honest, I have never seen Googlebot this busy ever! at least at bigwebmaster.com - it has made record visits in one day.Yes, I am guessing the 17th, St. Patrick's Day.how can u tell googlebot has been there? do you use some kind of reporting? I use re-invigorate for my stats but i can never tell that google has been on my site.He may be using server log files."musik" search for the ips that starts with 64.68 ....Personally, I actually modified PostNuke on my site so that it stores a whole bunch of details about people browsing my site (what URL referred them, what client they're using, whether they're search engine or not - and if they are, which one).. It's all anonymous stats, but I like to get an idea of how people are finding me, who are the most popular sites linking to me, popular search phrases, etc.okay i will have a better look at my stats through my hosting toocheersWe use a few different scripts to monitor google activity. You could write a script to parse your own weblogs as well. This script called Spydertrax is a good one you might check out:http://www.darrinward.com/You can see a demo here:http://www.darrinward.com/spydertrax/spyderview.cgiand download it here:http://www.darrinward.com/spydertrax2.zipIt basically sums everything up for you and then also allows you to select one of the search engine bots and see the detailed hits and what pages the bot visited.oh great! thanks so much bwm!yay, looks like I picked a good time to change my urls Thanks to you guys, reading Ive done and lots of changes to my site, I think Ill do just fine when this all comes about. Thank you very much for your help. It doesnt look like I can run spydertrax on my host because the scripting is not available at my level of service. Once again though, Im happy as hell with go-daddy as their stats seem to be fairly comprehensive as Im looking through them tonight.Another good FREE!!! OpenSource Web Log Stats software which I use is AWStats. It's made in PHP and runs on both Windows and Linux.http://awstats.sourceforge.net/Yes I use AWStats as part of the CPanel web site management package. I really like it.5 days ago google hit me very hard and indexed more 1000 pages whichs related with my site and put me on the top of the web hosting related keywords, curious about it becouse i just dont know why. There werent any backlink or pr update so how the google trible my rankings?Anyone notice big changes for their site in these days?Altough pr of 5 , it ranks like a pr8 site...Really interesting for me.
