I am a newbie on the matter of scripting, so I am turning to the patient ones among you for help!
I wanted to surprise a friend with a guestbook for his homepage, but I needed your help on how to proceed.
I am quite familiar with HTML 4.0, but NOT with the necessary steps to make a guest book work.
Is there someone out there who is willing to help?

1. Download an existing script
2. write your own script
3. server that supports the script language (PERL, PHP, ASP etc)
4. use a third party hosted guestbook script (least desireable but very easy like <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.beseen.com">http://www.beseen.com</a><!-- m -->)
There are probably more guestbook scripts than anything else. Do a search on your favorite search engine for something like "guestbook script" or "where can I Download a free guestbook script?"
First check with your server to see what they allow and support.
