You didn't provide enough information to the user.

Your right on your end, however you could be wrong too. It all DEPENDS on the hosts TOS and other agreements.

Your host checked your files and that's your problem. Same to everyone else using a host. READ the TOS and agreements. It will state many things, such as tech's reading your files.

If a host states, they will not read files. Well, then your safe and don't need a keygen script. It's not bad to have it, but it's useless to have then.

If your hosts CHECKS files, which I think people shouldn't even allow. Then in that case you NEED a keygen type of script.

Main thing is there is NO right or wrong answer. There are 2 answered, but they are right or wrong depending on WHAT your hosting agreements are.
