I wish to learn about CMS to eventually offer for clients, I don't have much in the way of knowledge, so I don't know which to pick, or how to install, I'll need it mostly for them to update text and/or images. which is the bestn to use, and what good resources are there?<!--content-->
"Best" tends to be a personal favourite, mine is Wordpress. <br /><br />Best could also mean free in which case you could look at Joomla (open source and free), Expression Engine (offers a free version or paid version), Drupal (free), Mambo (open source and free). Most of these are PHP driven, but there are some ASP ones.<!--content-->

Not necessarily. Most CMS packages don't actually require any working knowledge of PHP, however it can sometimes help if you need to know how to do something.<!--content-->

Yeah. You should also look to offer some form of training or support rather than just leave them to it. Maybe a simple user guide?<!--content-->

For every cms to you have to know how to work a database??<!--content-->
it helps.<br /><br />most of them use MySQL and that generally takes care of itself, but if you want to make any major changes then you need to know SQL or hire some friendly developer to take care of it for you.<!--content-->
