Would this work to bring back a deleted forum?

I accidentally deleted a forum off my forum. However, I do have a backup of my site from a few days ago...is there any way just to restore that portion of the database to the current site?

As long as your site backup includes the database from the same time, yes, that would work, but your would lose posts made from then until now.

What I mean is, can I transfer part of that to my current website?
Is there anyway just to do a partial transfer?

You can probably do this by exporting/importing tables, but I have never tried it so as far as which tables and how to do it - maybe someone else can answer that one. Were I in the same situation, I would just replace the entire database with the backup and chalk it up to experience.
