I set up an archive to make sure my threads would make it into google..http://forums.ffshrine.org/archive/it cached the archive page, and all of the subforums this time. however, none of the threads got cached- none of them.why is this? will it pick up more next month?I was never a fan of archives for forums, is there a way to remove the SIDs (Session IDs) from VB forums? They will get a PR next month, google is constantly adding stuff to their database thoughyeah, there are two ways to get threads in google from a vb:1) archive2) forum-wide hackI prefer 1 because no one even notices the change has been made, usually. I'm not concerned with the PR, I just want more threads cached. so you don't know if they'll go deeper next time? How deep google crawls depends on the PR of your main pageon my forums, I have a PR of 5 on the main page, and google has indexed every thread (im using phpBB with modrewrite and removal of session ids along with a few custom mods and a link exchange policy)my main site is a PR6, forums are a PR5. the archive index is linked to both from the main page and the forums page.if they didn't crawl it this time, is there a chance they will in the future?they may have crawled it but they may have not updated their indexIt will be added to the index if a PR 6 and PR 5 site are linking to itwell, that's what worried me- it just picked up and added the archive index page to its cache, and all of the subforums, but none of the threads are in there. If it's just a bunch of links then google does'nt like it too much, that's why removing the SIDs is a better idea for forumsthanks, I guess.is there any hope more will be picked up next time or was this my only chance?this hack worked just fine for other people, that's a bit odd...As long as you keep it up, google will go deeper
