I just can't quite figure it out. Right now i have the top spot on Yahoo for my main search term: flint river ranch .I'm on the first page of MSN, and search.com . I'm the 22nd on overture right now. But throughout my website's history, google has always kept me down low. There was one phase where I was on their first page, but never close to the top like I have been on the others. I don't even know where my page is on google right now. It was always bad with google, but every since that one update they did several months ago (last spring?) my site has just kinda disappeared somewhere.Quote:LOL!Really, I just don't get it. It's like my site has some google curse. I contacted google about it once, and they just gave me some copy-paste autogenerated reply .Google is much harder and more complex to get good positioning for. MSN is pretty easy, Yahoo a little harder, but Google will take some work...you just need to be patient.Research the threads here, and it will help you achieve top positioning in Google eventually.I understand that it's no walk in the park, but it's been 2 years. I just don't understand why I stayed within the first 3 pages for months and months, then suddenly the bottom dropped out. I don't really expect to be number 1, I am very happy to have my spot on Yahoo, and surprised. It just seems like something is very funny.I'll keep working on it though, as always.Wasn't aware it has been two years. I guess I would make sure that you are getting very related links coming in, get into DMOZ, if your not yet...get a Yahoo Directory listing, MSN small business directory. Possibly change your on page content as well.southerngurl,May I ask you, what are you using to code your site? I've seen you post about this before, but tonight is the first time I ever viewed your source code for your page. I have to tell you, I've never seen anything like that code, and have no clue how your page is even displaying properly. What is that? I'm not trying to be insulting or anything, but I think the code you are using is a root cause of your problem.I don't think the sig in the site is the same site she is talking about, because that site has a PR of 0, which would be strange for a two year old site.I know, I've never understood the code deal either. It's frontpage. Right now I am redesigning the site with my own design via Sitespinner. What it has now is just a frontpage template. It is the site in my signature line, http://www.naturespets.com, but has a PR of 4? I'm confused as to why it would show 0 for you. I clicked directly on the link in the signature line to make sure it wasn't missing the "www" in the link or something. It has been PR 4 every since it dropped, it was a PR 6 back when.I just ran a test to see my search engine ranking, here's what I got:Google - Not in Top 100 Google - allinanchor Not in Top 100 Google - allintitle Not in Top 100 Google - allintext Not in Top 100 Yahoo! 1 MSN (Beta) 16 Teoma 13 You can see anything involving google is way down there, I have no clue how far. I have to put in my last name with my search term to pull my site to the top. But with the other search engines I am fine. Maybe google hates templates? BTW, MSN actually has me at 9, not sure why it says 16 there. Probably because it was free.Veto. A challenge. Find the "official" Flint River Ranch website. Southurngurl is a distributor/reseller (as you can tell by the links in her sig - remember her keywords she's interested in are Flint River Ranch) So is this one for example:http://www.flintriver.com/http://www.flintriver.com/productinfo.a ... disclosureThis one would be an SEO challenge for sure:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=fl ... gle+SearchThe problem here is redundancy. Too many people with the same key word. Not sure how MSN and Yahoo's algorythms work, but I don't think Google will go for this. This is vaguely reminicent to me of Quixtar (a.k.a. Amway)Multilevel marketing gone bad (maybe --maybe not), albeit, they have still managed to maintain their presence for both terms on google. But now find their distributors.btw, I show a PR4 for your site also southerngurl, and the links in your sig were the ones I knew you were talking about. For the record, this appears to be the official Flint River Ranch website:http://www.flintriver-home.com/#10 on google results.Yea, FRR is an MLM, but very reputable. They have been in business since 1993, and have a good record with the BBB. Their pet food is really good, awesome. That is how I found them, I was looking for the best food for my aging border collie. I definitely wasn't looking for a way to make money. Then I saw the distributorship and thought, maybe I can make enough to pay for my pets' food. The big difference is, you don't need a downline to make money. The MLM concept was used to help word spread, and it has definitely worked. Things sure have grown since I became a distributor over 2 years ago.Yes, there is alot of competition for the key words I want, for sure. But don't yahoo and msn have about as many FRR websites listed as google does? I'm not really able to sell locally very well as I live in a rural area where people feed Ol' Roy and whatnot. After doing a little research on what goes into pet "food".... *shivers* . To put it in a nutshell, it's the trashcan of the human food industry (which is way sub par in it's own right). Sorry for getting OT.This has become a great post providing alot of information. Veto and ATNO/TW offer excellent incite. You are challenged with competitive keywords, however, cleaning up your code and reworking the text on your index page should help.I'm not an expert on this but if you could I would move that disclaimer " This Web site is not the official Web site of the Flint River Ranch Company. This site is owned and operated by FRR Independent ..."to the bottom of the page or at least move it out of the top position. Try to make certain that your page is rich with your chosen keywords and content (without spamming).By the way, does that dog food promote nice fresh breath? I have a lab that smells like nachos all the time..... perhaps it's his dog food StaciNachos? LOL. Yes, good health helps with bad breath on a generalized basis. I'll have you know I just went out and smelled my dogs breath because of your post. She is about 12 yrs. old and her breath does't stink! What an accomplishment. From what I know, bad breath can indicate either dental disease or something off in the digestive tract. Changing your dog's diet to ANY high quality food, of which their are few, or even making your own, would improve his health and breath. We do have spearmint nylabones and herbal wafers that are supposed to help with doggy breath as well. I can't say how well they work in that aspect, as my own dogs don't really have stinky breath. They really like the taste of the herbal wafers however. They are Allie's favorite.
