it seems too hard to compete with those huge directories today so i need to stray somewhere or need a keyword to rank my article directory.
which keyword shall i have to rank where i can somehow earn? quality really make a difference.. you should have a manual moderation when accepting articles... since content is the king you should be careful on accepting contents.. You should probably start with some long tail keyword like "instant approval article directories" (if your site is instant approval, but I took it as an example).
If your site is new, avoid competing for main keywords, it will be hard as hell to beat ezine, isnare... suppose I'm to aim students. i want them to visit my site as their reference, which keyword can i try to? I would suggest you to try targeting the 'article databases' search query. Quote: Originally Posted by Leo SQP I would suggest you to try targeting the 'article databases' search query. Sorry, no offense meant; it just seemed you were responding the first question. Thanks for replying. Rep awarded.
I research information for articles regularly, just as a student might, I think ... and, no, I don't type 'articles + keyword' I type the actual subject that interests me with no interest in whether the information I seek might be published on a blog or statis site or article directory. For a student with a specific topic, I would not have thought 'articles datebase.' However, I could be wrong. Who knows what people might type?
Google does report that 'scholarly articles database' has 1300 global searches monthly, and that would attract students, yes. Assuming the OP has scholarly articles and not what you would find in your average article directory for creating SEO self service links. It wouldn't be 'user friendly' to optimize for something they won't find there. I haven't checked our OP's site. Is it scholarly? It depends what type of students you are trying to attract. Are you going for students actually doing real research because I personally would never put information I found in an article directory in a paper etc.
The students who seem most likely to use an article directory are those looking for shortcuts to their paper. I think as your website is new and you can't compete for high competitive keywords now, you can start with below keywords:
