I would like to know, the factors which can effect the value and the quality of the backlinks of our site...???

The longer a site has been around the more google assumes that it's providing value to users and assumes you're active. Right there you know google plays a role in activity so you're going to want to be creating new content on a regular basis so that Google knows you're a current site. They don't want to be sending users to a site with old, outdated content so that's why they put a heavy weight on that.
You'll also want to register your domain name for 3 years minimum because you're telling the search engines that you're going to be around for awhile. Anyone who is trying to make a quick buck and run is not going to register a site for only a year.

Apart from domain age, number of inbound and outbound links, the important thing is that back-link you getting from certain site is how much relative to subject of your site. If you have site for cars, then backlinks from other car's sites is more beneficial than backlinks from sites say pets. Well it depends a lot on the external high quality links but content quality is also important as content is the king.
