i've an asp file with includes; i'm using, at the top, a table width=100%; when i use the doctype (in my case validates to XHTML 1.0 Transitional) i loose the vertical scrollbar. If i dont have a doctype, then the scrollbar appears...<br />
What's going on?<!--content-->instead width=100%, 98% works fine...<!--content-->I don't understand? how can you set the table width and lose the verticle scroll bar? the width doesn't have anyhting to do with vertical, height does.<!--content-->this very page has a right vertical scrollbar, so as does mine; so, when i set the width of my table to 100%, the text flows right and occupies the space of the scrollbar...and the scrollbar doesnt appear anymore!<!--content-->yes you are right, this page does have a scroll bar to the right but the tables are 100% width so how does it effect the scrollbar going down? the only thing the width should effect is the horizontal scrollbar, not the vertical one. and 98% is not much less than 100% so if you can show me the page in question I fail to how it fixed it.<!--content-->re hi<br />
