Please help me the site that I am working on is down to the 2nd page and I don't know what might hurt it.... Been doing forum profile and forum posting (not spam of course), profile building and social bookmarking RSS feeds and pinging. And when I started the directory listing from top 5 it down to top 8 and I have stopped feeding and pinging it's on the the 2nd page.... Tell me, what's wrong? Pleeeeaaase!!!! Well...from what you say I understand that you have a good backlink strategy, but in fact that is not as important as you might believe. Even though building backlinks can give a boost to your website, you should not forget that what's really important in a world where websites like Google and Bing build "smart search robots" is content and people's impression about that content.
Another important thing is the social impact because now even Google seems to care more about how social websites rank your content. Work on providing HQ content and improve your social stats and I guess everything will be fine. Also you should keep in mind that poor content can drag your website down even if you have better content now...so get rid of that bad content or improve it. Might be your competitor is doing well then you.Also sometimes due to bounce rate such up and down occurs on your site.Only link building is not enough to rank your site better.You should try to leave a impress on your visitor's through the help of your contents.Don't forget that "Content is king" the better your contents are the better you rank on the search engines. I agree with webnewbie, you should focus on providing good content so that you will be able to decrease the bounce rate (people coming and leaving without spending much time on your site). Go with videos or something that can really make users engage! Yes, i am agree with webnewbie and brainpal that content play an important role in website ranking. Apart from quality content on your website you may add quality one way back link in order to improve your website ranking. Do Proper internal linking between your website's pages also. And one thing I have been link building for almost 2 years for the same profile (name, pics, etc.) Could this make me a SPAM or it doesn't matter at all? And thanks all. hi
its depend upon your competitor as well how well you he doing, just make some changes in website, tyr video optimization, image optimization, and wikipidia entry can also helps, use social media marketing, if have budget then you can go for PPC also. There is nothing wrong in your strategy... Sometimes, your competitors work harder than you which results a fall in your ranking.
Just analyze what your competitors’ are doing. You may use 'Keyword Country' for analyzing your competitors backlinking strategy. Could be several things, if your site is new it gets a temp. boost before settling into it's more long term position. Continue to build quality backlinks to your site. Make sure you have not built spanmy links recently in sites containing bad words for example or to many external links. Try to remove these of you have such.
