what to do since reciprocal links are not so great.

I've read that reciprocal links are not really very valuable, so i'm just wondering, how do you get links other than advertising, or writing articles and having them featured on pages... It really depends on what kind of reciprocal links you have. If you exchange links with relevant site I think those links are valuable, of course the higher PR is the better. If you have one way links with relevant sites it's much better than reciprocal, but reciprocal are still okay

Have a great day ok well thats good news, but are there better options i should be seeking? Links are still links. As long as it is relevant. Reciprocal linking shouldn't be abused. Limit your links on your link partner page.. Excessive linking could definitely harm... If you have something interesting to say, people will link to your site. Do you have a blog on your site? Is this a product only site? Etc. My ecommerce site is tough because it doesn't have a lot of "social" reasons to link to it, but I do have some helpful articles that get links. How to articles work too.

A couple thoughts on reciprocal links:

- Reciprocals are ok if they come from sites in your "neighborhood" that aren't spam sites.
- Don't worry about pr when you are looking for links from sites. The pr you see is not real anyway. Concentrate on getting links from pages that have been indexed in the last month or 2 and that are in your general subject area.
- Limit your reciprocals to a percentage of overall links that is similar to highly ranked sites in your target keyword market.
- The older your site, the more you can get away with whatever links. Forum posting! It's a good source of one-way link. my website is www.corvette-wheels.com It's an ecommerce site specifically for corvette wheels (obviously) I guess I could try to write up some articles in general about certain wheels, or even the corvette itself, but what good does that do me on my site? don't i need to have these articles on other sites? i guess i could post them in forums catering towards corvettes. Of course you can post it on forums. Also submit your articles on some social bookmarking sites accepting articles and try to create a blog and promote your RSS feed. We can get good back links form the blogs, bookmarks, forums,....etc...

link exchange with the high page rank relevant category sites... If the reciprocal links are relevant then they have some advantage Quote: Originally Posted by mhunkler my website is www.corvette-wheels.com It's an ecommerce site specifically for corvette wheels (obviously) I guess I could try to write up some articles in general about certain wheels, or even the corvette itself, but what good does that do me on my site? don't i need to have these articles on other sites? i guess i could post them in forums catering towards corvettes. You want to put something on your site that people will talk about. The throry is they will spread the word and then you get natural links. It's not always that easy.

Write the articles. Post them to your site first and wait until they are indexed. Then, submit them. This way, your site gets credit for the original work and you get back links. Forum posts are good to as long as they let you have a sig and it is followed. Quote: Originally Posted by mhunkler How do i figure out these percentages? There is are
