What is your opinion about submitting links in web/article directories.
1. Make your visibility on the web.
2. Get a backlink.
3. Get more traffic. etc More traffic...is my best opinion considerably the high ranking sites. getting links is good for website health
Submission of links in web & article directly gives a long live backlinks. It all depends on the quality of directories. For example, if I own a local grocery store than I definitely want to be on sites like Yelp, Yahoo Locals, Google Locals and those directories. I'm not doing that so much for back link purposes or really traffic, I just want to be visible to anyone in my area when they are searching for businesses like mine. Plus I don't my competitor to be listed anywhere that I'm not....and even better, If I'm listed there and he isn't, then that just gives me an edge.
As far as posting to directories for actually traffic...I've never seen any real traffic come from directories. I don't know anyone who really uses directories anymore on a regular basis to find information. Searching Google has pretty much replaced the concept of looking through directories...both online and offline (who uses yellow books anymore for real?).
Lastly, backlinks on directories are iffy. I'd say most directories that are
