What Is Value of Submitting Links to RSS?

I got asked a question that I *think* I know the answer to, but didn't want to spout off too quickly and sound stupid. I was asked what the value of creating a list of backlinks that point back to your site and then submit them to a RSS aggregator.

My first thought was that it would, potentially, tip off Google/Bing/Yahoo that you were spamming or at least trying to manipulate back links. Also, I can't see the back link value (read: back link count) going up.

The one potential positive side though would be it would get your back links indexed.

Anyone want to weigh in on this? Am I thinking too much about looking like you're trying to manipulate? I did a search and sure enough, some sites are advertising that they will do this, but I can't see the value. Thanks. Hi, joeldavis

I think you might be right. I have also submit my RSS feeds to many RSS directories but backlinks for my sites have not grown like I anticipated.

Thanks for your sharing,
