is there a limit for how many keywords you can have if so how many is that?

thanks In what particular scenario? in seo manner, if you want to target set of keywords in a particular page of your site, there is no limitations. when constructing meta tags, its always advisable to limit your keywords on the Title and Description, its better to put all the required keywords on the Meta keywords part. when it comes to page content, you may provide at least three keywords anchor text.

Targeting the 3 - 5 keywords is good. There is no limit for keywords but it is better to target your primary keyword.. even if you dont have a limit on the number of keywords, you should go with 8 to 10 keywords, optimize it properly and get better results it is better to optimize every page for at maximum 3 words or 3 phrases. if you try to optimize a single page for more than that then you might get to the first page of google but you will not be able to be on the first spot in all of them.

It's unclear exactly what you're asking here but a general good rule of thumb is if it looks or feels wrong, it is wrong. to my limited knowledge have 8-10 keywords best is to optimize your page for single key words.
than comes the density and I think 5-10% is fine
