Deep crawling in SEO term means, is the ability of search engine bots or spider bots to further crawl deeper within a website's structure by passing through every website's sub pages or deep links. Getting deep crawled by bots helps your entire website to get indexed thoroughly, hence, more content of your website is added to the search engine index.

See Crawlability Enhancers: 7 Tips for Deep Crawling Success and How Google Works When the search engine crawler follows your link deeply in to the site then it is called as Deep crawl.

The main advantage of deep crawl is your content will be more accessible to the search engines. Depending on the linking structure there might be difference in your page rank in certain pages. To add some more or in Layman's term:

You do this by having one of your pages (For example, www.example.com/get.php) used as a backlink in your linkbuilding. The following are some techniques I know you can I apply in deeplinking.

1.) Passing your index page together with deep link, www.example.com/get.php to web directories that offers deep crawling.
2.) Use social bookmarking to bookmark www.example.com/get.php.
3.) Comment on blogs or post on boards using www.example.com/get.php.

HTH. Advantage is, more of your content will be accessible from the search engines. It could also make a difference to your PageRank of certain pages, because it is dependent on your linking structure of your site. The links throughout your site to your homepage (and other pages) will also count as backward links. When the Googlebot follow your links deep into your site, the links throughout your site to your homepage (and other pages) will also count as backward links.
