Hello all, I am trying to figure out what Google means by;
URL's Submitted 7 - Indexed 1
Shouldn't there be 7 indexed? or I am not sure what this means, that maybe the other 6 are not good webpages?
Please help explain, thank you.

Submitting URLs to Search Engines is not a good way to get them indexed. If you want your pages to get indexed as you wish, you should do a few things such as:
- Creating a sitemap and submitting it to Google using Google Webmaster Tools to help Google easily index your web pages.
- Creating friendly URLs by rewriting them, if your site is dynamic one.
- Building backlinks using article marketing, social bookmarking sites, forum signature file, blog commenting, etc... (This way is better than submitting your web pages to Google and surely get your web pages indexed).
Hope this helps! Quote: Originally Posted by DangVu Submitting URLs to Search Engines is not a good way to get them indexed. It's not actually a "not good way," it's one way of getting your site/pages indexed but it takes too long compared to the other methods.
Through the past 2 years that I've been optimizing websites, what I find as the fastest and simplest ways of getting indexed is through xml sitemap submission (also have a html sitemap if your site contains many pages), social bookmarking and social networking.
But if your site has bad internal linking structure, even if you do all the link building techniques, you still won't be able to get all or majority of your pages indexed. Most importantly, you need links pointing at your site. Submitting your URL to search engines is of little benefit. I thinks Submit Your Site in Social Bookmarking Site and Also Get the Quality Back Links. You should collect quality backlinks by submitting your site to directories, social bookmarking, article submission... Register your site on webmaster central or create blogspot to update the content regularly with your site webpage link. Build links to your content, and every time you do, use the stumbleupon toolbar to stubmle the page with the link. Then add that page to an RSS feed submission service, and if its on a blog, ping that blog using autopinger.com - oh and have a blogger blo and drop links to your links and pages as well. All of that should ensure everything you build gets visited and indexed. They have total 7 ursl in queque for processing and only one gets indexed yet. you should do socila bookmarking and also directory submission
