I have been reported for duplicated title with my Wordpress blogs. All duplicated title come with a page format + ?alexa_ho_am
Ex. Each page has bene reported for duplicated under this format.
http://www.domain.com/page/66?alexa_ho_am
http://www.domain.com/page/66
I have already searched and found all Wordpress blogs come with a same format. I do not understand since the Blog has been like this from the beginning but this type of duplicated just reported a few days ago.
I am deciding to do 301 redirect all page attached with "?alexa_ho_am" to a non "?alexa_ho_am" version to prevent duplicated issues. However, since all Blogs has this one attached so I am not sure if it would pose negative effects toward my blog or not. Although i have no idea about "?alexa_ho_am", either encounter that to my sites/blogs but i'm trying to research it. Anyway, about your doing on 301 redirect, 301 redirect is the best method to preserve your current search engine rankings when redirecting web pages or a website. The code "301" is interpreted as "moved permanently".
After the code, the URL of the missing or renamed page is noted, followed by a space, then followed by the new location or file name. You implement the 301 redirect by creating a .htaccess file.
Here some guide to 301 redirect: http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php Quote: Originally Posted by jannah is awesome http://www.v7n.com/forums/seo-forum/185122-what-alexa_ho_am.html#post1375594 Thanks for the reply with a good sources. However, I do know about doing 301 redirect already. The only thing I do concern is, when I do search for "?alexa_ho_am" in Google. I found all Wordpress blogs also have this kind of url, like a default structure or something. That made me hesitate to do 301 since I am not sure would it be positive or negative.
As I said, I never had being reported for this kind of duplicated until a few days lately. I am not sure what Google had done to their Webmasters Tool but it seems the tool just count this kind of page as duplicated title issues.
I want to know exactly about "?alexa_ho_am" first before made any change anyway.
