What else can one do [to block attacks]

Hi all,

In my logfile I have loads (probably about 60) of these
1||1236930791||78.40.231.213||type=-0+AND+2=1+UNION+ALL+SELECT+0x306537633263a3a3a--||||Mozilla/5.0
1||1236930925||199.172.192.9||type=-999+AND+3=2+UNION+ALL+SELECT+0x306566343033--||||Mozilla/5.0

I take it that they are attempted hacks into my forum so, what can I do about these, any ideas please?
