I've been listening to Domain Masters show on Webmasterradio.fm and, although it is a great show as far as web development in general is concerned, the whole point of "building a portfolio" of 500+ domains still eludes me.
Why do people hold so many, anyways? I understand importance of having a great name IF you are developing a site behind it. If you are not - what are you, just making money reselling those? Some type-in traffic sent to a parking space somewhere? I have no experience with this. Maybe someone in the domain business would like to fill in. I have a 20-odd domain names I've hold on to over the years and only 10 actually operating sites. What would be the best way to utilize the unused domains?
What else can be done with domains that general public has no idea about?
Thanks for your input!
