I know few basic factors like checking the inbound links of the requested site, considering the page rank of the linking page and checking for no. of the Google crawled pages.

Do i have to consider further more factors for exchanging links?

If so then please let me know. Make sure the link you are exchanging is a dofollow link. It should be common sense to do so but maybe sometimes the link they give you may be a nofollow link. Please also consider these factors:

1. It should be do-follow
2. It should be related to your site
3. It should be not a spam site It should not be a link farm
It should be relevant to your site
It should be a useful contribution to your site
The page is cached in Google I'd also recommend checking number of visitors per day, thus otherwise link exchange doesn't give that much effect (unless you're doing it for PR, of course - I'd recommend to do the exchange with a partner with higher PR then. don't link reciprocally, it is one thing that we must always try to avoid. You may consider these

1. How deep of the link change page - If your link has been placed too deep, I doubt if that page will be in Google cache or not.

2. Relevant - This is a must

3. Inspect their website content throughly - The bad-neighborhood would be your big issues if you do not selective enough on who you are linking out to. Check to see if their website is not a Spam / content scraper / MFA and so on. You should also check their outbound link to see if they have been linked to unrelated website or Spam website. Check its popularity and its reputation so that you won't be
