I am wanting to start blogging full-time, in order to drive traffic to my website, however am stuck with how to optimize and increase my blog search traffic! What are the best SEO, traffic and exposure tips for bloggers, and are there any online companies that specialise in offering search marketing solutions to bloggers? I'm especially wanting to save time and money (in order to concentrate on my blogging and not my blog marketing!). I would appreciate any opinion or response! Cheers It's simple. It's a blog. KEEP BLOGGING! Optimizing a blog is no different than optimizing a website.

If you read through Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide (opens PDF) and make yourself a checklist that would help you as you write each post.

There are a number of professional bloggers around. Darren Rowse (ProBlogger.net) has a book and a workbook you might find helpful.

We also have a Blogging section here at V7N you can read through. I would built my blog using educational well written content only, I would use social networks to find people in the same industries as myself, and I would get them to share some of my posts. Now when ever asking anyone for anything in life keep in mind giving value first goes a long way If your blog is wordpress then you could do the following to help insure your site is SEO ready. These are just a few tips to make a seo'd wordpress blog.

* One thing you do want to set for SEO is the permalinks so under settings make sure you click on the perma links link and set your common settings to "Custom Structure" and enter the following for that structure.

/%category%/%postname%/

* Install the Google XML Sitemaps Plugin - This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com to better index your blog.

* Install the All In One SEO Pack Plugin - Optimizes your WordPress blog for Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization).

* Install the Efficient Related Post - Efficient Related Posts moves all this effort into the admin section, finding related posts when a post is saved rather than when the user views it.

* Install the Add To Any Plugin - The WordPress plugin to help people share, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service, such as Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Google, Digg, Delicious, and well over 100 more sharing and social bookmarking sites. New: Google +1 Button in addition to the Facebook Like Button and Twitter Tweet Button.

Your theme could also make a difference, personally I use Flexibility Theme. You should also make your blog shareable by adding social media buttons such as Retweet Button, Like/share/recommended Facebook Buttons, G+ Button etc. on every of your blog post to help increase your blog traffic. In this way, once a reader finds a blog post interesting, it will be easier for him/her to share it to his/her social network profile. hi.
Blog must be unique and original, must contain useful information with good quality backlinks. My tip would be to really analyse your niche before hand. See what topics get high volume searches through search engines, and which ones of those are not very competitive, then write interesting blogs, which are optimized for those niche phrases. Once this is done reach out to other bloggers highlighting the gap in knowledge this is filling and encourage social sharing. Webby got a good point. Some post I make on my forum are based on internet news, I look at the top news for the internet each day and then I write up a post about that and post it on my own internet marketing forum.

I do not copy and paste but write up my own views and opinions and then I link back to the original source. It is important for you to link to the source because this gives you value with Google.

Most marketers will tell you to get links from authority sites when in fact Google gives you much more credit for linking to an authority.
