If I buy a new domain from Wordpress (cptools.com) and make it the main one, will all the backlinks,rank,etc. transfer? Also, once I have bought cptools.com, is it possible to transfer this domain to a different self-hosted blog as the main domain? If your current situation does not allow you to ability to do a permanent 301 redirect, you may want to think hard before moving and simply start a new blog.
Just curious, with hosting sooooo inexpensive these days, why not just buy your domain independently and choose a web host where you can use the Wordpress platform from wordpress.org and have full control? 301 redirect is going to be the way to go.
