greetings guys!
i have a website about two months old and about 300 pages indexed in google and about 200-300 visitors per day.
i now i want to make a fourm on that domain instead of that website because i feel that i have choosen a very big topic to cover .
so i want to make a fourm on that domain instead of continue with that website.
i want to know that does it going to effect my website 's image on google and google will blacklist my domain .
and
what about those 300 pages which are indexed in google What type of content is on those pages. I would just start a forum in a subdomain or new directory www.domain.com/forum. If the forum you want to creat is same topic of your current websit,I think it is no problem,as long as you update the site in time and creat quality content and forum posts in the new site, you will still gain google's trust. But if it is not relevant topic between both.I think google will consider it is bad action. what about those 300 pages which are indexed in google
as long as you do proper page redirection, Google will send all traffic to new landing page. Further more, Google will re-index entire site structure. Your question about Google is one thing, but another would be the visitors to your site.. if you're wanting to COMPLETELY remove the site and switch to a forum, I would recommend doing it slowly. Such as creating a forum as a subdomain (forum.domain.com) or a subdirectory (domain.com/forum) while keeping the main site intact for the time being, posting new info on the index referencing your move to a forum and ease your way into it. Then, start redirecting pages to perhaps different threads on the forum and eventually overtaking the domain as the forum entirely.
At least this would be my process were I to do the same or a similar action. It is a good approach. But i suggest you to create a sub-domain for the forum. This would help in ranking of your site and your indexed pages would also get price for that.Best of luck. b ) If you are not going to do a ) then you are going to loose all your incoming links to those pages. You are going to have to wait for all your forum threads to be indexed. i.e. you will be starting over.
An idea would be to build the forum in a hidden spot, post the old articles to the forum for discussion, create the .htaccess file with the redirects THEN when finished, move the forum to the root of the domain.
