Verification Procedures

I am using this theme and would like to know the following:

Why can I not get any anti-spam features to work. I have tried every Human Verification option and none show on the register.php, as none show it doeant allow people to register if I have it switched on. So far I have only had one signup that is a spam bot but as my site gets popular its going to need this verification thing on.

Also is there any updated xml for the theme im using yet to fetch it up to 3.7.2?
 
go to edit templates on the style and try reverting the registrations templates that should o the trick click on it and then on the right site it should save revert template
 
I click revert and nothing happens, in the box below the revert/edit etc buttons it says the following:

This template has not been customized in this style or any of its parent styles.

Double-click the template name or click the 'Customize' button to add a customized version of this template to the current style and its child sets.

I'm guessing I may have to edit the template myself and add the code in, any ideas what the code would be?
 
First, is this a 3.6.x system that was upgraded? If so, the antispam call change and you style is using the wrong call. In 3.6.x the call was $imagereg but that changed when they introduced the security tokens. Now its called $human_verify so if your register template is still looking for $imagereg, that would be the problem.

The theme wasnt made for my version of my board which is 3.7.2 so if I searched for $imagereg and replaced that with $human_verify it would be ok?
 
Actually, I have done that on other styles and it worked. I think it is not as good a doing a revert but it did work for me on another style I was using.
 
I did the revert thing but nothing happens, its like the button can't be pressed. Also the search for $imagereg and $human_verify fetches nothing.

I really need to get this working as the spam bots are starting to register more now.
