vBSEO question...

hey guys, sorry to bother you with my n00by question, but it seems that im not very familiar with this thats why i kindly ask for your coop. um, when i turn on vBSEO it fuckups the whole forum(404page). i ask a buddy of mine and he told me to check the .htaccess file url redirect is it fixed or not since vBSEO touches up that file. so, please if you don't mind let somebody help me fix this either here(as a step>by>step) or we can use IM or even TeamViewer. thanx a lot!
 
The step by step instructions are in the distribution you downloaded in the docs folder in the readme.html. Click on the "Installation Instruction" in the sidebar. Almost ALWAYS, 404s come from the fact that you did not upload the VBSEO .htaccess file or you hacked it and hosed it. If you upload the "stock" .htaccess file it should work. You can then add your stuff to it if you need to after you get it working.
