Is it a big advantage to learn C# for asp.net ?
Is it necessary or can you do th esame thing with vb.net (7) ?According to the man from Microsoft (at the .Net roadshow), there is no performance gain in using C# over Vb.Net, so I suppose the answer is no.

However, I believe that C# is more feature rich than Vb.Net. The greneral impression given was that C# is really there to keep C++ and Java developers happy while Vb.Net is there for the rest.To the big surprise of many VB6 programmers, VB.NET is much more similar to C# than most would suspect. Daniel Appleman, one of the great VB coders in the US, has written a wonderful comparison of both (avail at mightywords.com). I can highly recommend it as a decision aid.

TWyour reply has 2 meanings opposite, ths first one: C# is more rich than VB, the second : C# is only to keep C++ programmers and to get java programmers...

but VB 7 seems to be very different than VB 6, and object oriented..

Thanks any way
thanks for the link !I shall read it,
I like very much VB 6, it is so practical and intuitive,if I can keep it I will not change
...bye
