Variables in URLs

Hi,I have spent sometime learning and getting to grips with SEO and have been quite lucky to have achieved top 1-3 listings for the majority of products on our website. Our current e-commerce software uses ASP and only has one variable in each product url - however we are looking at a new system which uses php and rather than call a product it seems to run a search, meaning that the url of each product or category has many variables in the url.Current site: http://www.transair.co.uk/product4.asp? ... ct_ID=6615New software: http://www.simplythankyou.co.uk/sty/det ... t+Baskets+This is one area I am not sure about, will this have a major effect on our listings? My guess looking at it is that google will have problems with the new urls?Google will not run after 2-3 variables in URL.. So, your current URL is good for Search engines, I think. Even, I have checked, it is indexed by Google. So, No problem for your URL with Google.Hi, thanks for the reply. So you think we would be best to stick with our current system? 50% of our orders come from the search engine rankings we have gained so losing them would be a big deal.scorpionagency wrote:**Edited** Dang, Forum double posted me so I deleted the duplicate...transair wrote:x3mario wrote:scorpionagency wrote:GEEZ, this must be a glitch it double posted on me again...... **Edited Duplicate**scorpionagency wrote:
