Hi...I am wondering about this issue for along time.Someone told me that if you put a title=page title it helps for the rank. It gives more weight to the keywords in the title=blabla . something like Anchor text.Does anyone knows anything about this title thing?Cdx.I have talked with people about using the title tag with there links and no one has ever shown any evidence that this gives an improvement. I decided to test it a few weeks ago and saw no visible improvement. That doesn't mean you can't do it though.it doesn't help as far as most of us know, but it can't hurt anything.I agree, I ran a test on it once as well, and it didn't seem to make a differenceUnless I'm reading this incorrectly, I don't think cdx is asking specifically about using the actually title tag in anchor text, but merely if anchor text is of importance. In which case, the answer would undoubtedly be yes. For example, vetofunk's site comes up on the second page on google for the term "Home Office Furniture." But he has a lot of incoming links with those words in the anchor text. If most of his incoming links just said "discount furniture," his site would be much farther back than page 2, but would probably be doing better for the term "discount furniture."I already familiar with the anchor-text power, but I am talking about the title tag when you put inside the text, no metter what is yout anchor text.I think there should be such a difference when using a title tag in the link , because probably the job for the title tag is to tell us/engine-robots what is the subject of the link (maybe it's a primitive option before the important of the anchor text came up).Maybe there is a special way to use the title tag. maybe 2-3 words just with one keyword you are concetrating with. I am sure there is a way to use it properly...If someone use/try the title tag, can you share with us the way you use it? What was the anchor text and what was the title tag?Cdx.Ok sorry cdx, I misread it. In that case, I agree with the others, it doesn't seem to help much.It may not help much but it could be the difference between a #10 ranking and a #5 ranking. The statistical difference between sites ranking in the top ten is very very small....this could give you the extra edge....maybeIt could, but it could also trigger spam filters so kind of hard to tell.Quote:
