using css instead of tables ?

ok, i have a general idea of how to use the css instead of a table, but could someone help me w/ just a quick look at how a basic table could be achieved w/ css. thxWhat do you mean? You want to create a table with CSS? If the table is presenting tabular data, than its perfectly fine to use a table. CSS is used for presentation and layout.

Sites without table layout:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.csszengarden.com">http://www.csszengarden.com</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://cssvault.com/">http://cssvault.com/</a><!-- m -->

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.w3c.org/">http://www.w3c.org/</a><!-- m -->

And many others...OH MY LORD.....GameFaqs remodelled their site for Full CSS solution.....DEAR LORD.

WOW!! *greatly impressed at the amount of time and work the developers and designers put into that web site*

Though not completely, IGN (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ign.com/?fromint=1">http://www.ign.com/?fromint=1</a><!-- m -->) made a large move towards CSS.Glish (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.glish.com/css/">http://www.glish.com/css/</a><!-- m -->)
Blue Robot (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluerobot.com/">http://www.bluerobot.com/</a><!-- m -->)
Layout-O-Matic (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.inknoise.com/experimental/layoutomatic.php">http://www.inknoise.com/experimental/layoutomatic.php</a><!-- m -->)
CSS Layout Templates (just got this one off Google) (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.benmeadowcroft.com/webdev/">http://www.benmeadowcroft.com/webdev/</a><!-- m -->)

Just a few places to find some CSS layouts to look at. ;)
