How much will it effect me if I submit my link to pages that are completely un-related to my website? For about 90% of those pages were unrelated and they still had an effect. So if I just submit to as many link submission forms as possible, won't I eventually just start to rank well?i think it will affect your pagerank coz PR is based on quality links and content. better yet, link to relevant sitesI really dont think anyone knows what would happen if you submitted to 2000 PR0 sites, eg would you get PR1, i asked this question before and got no answer that I was happy with.Really except for the google programmers there will be few people who have the knowledge to answer the question but think of it like this.Google wouldnt take a point off you for listing on non related sites, becase for you all you know there are people talking about your site on a womens chat site, so that would count as negative feedback. + it would open up the possibility for your competition to go around submitting your link to un related places. As per googles info, you get a vote when a person links to your site, now maby you get 1 vote for a link, and 100 votes for a link from a pr4 who knows, but its a vote none the less. Also, I cant imagine that google would make it so that the people with the biggest pockets gets to the top of the SERPS, because that would mean big companies would get a monoppoly on any market they wanted, just throw 2 mill at SEO and youd be at the top, there has to be a component of no users auctually using your site, and or links that are not paid for. This becomes more plausable when you look at what the google analytics records.+ there are people who have like 150,000 thousand posts on a forum, so I cant even imagine how much it would cost to buy 150,000 backlinks (real links) + im sure these people have other forums they use, so that has to count for something.I would just take some time to work out what sites are relevant to yours, and what you can do for them in return for a one way back link to your site. Help moderate their forums, write in their blogs, etc etc, but at the end of the day its prob easier to earn $500 in the real world mowing your grannies lawns, then spending that money on SEO than it will ever be to get enough backlinks to to be equal to $500.i just nabed this from a link on another post in this forum, i think it was 2 threads away. The blue one in the middle is big from heaps of little greens.well relevancy of links is really the main key to hit the top...^_^and the anchor text, the words that people click to follow the linkSteven D wrote:This table shows how many links you need, and it says nothing about where you list your sitebut it would seem that you dont get any points for listing on a page with PR0.Also, a side note, that if you say only posted in web directories, then google might think that you are a web directory, or if you only post in forums, they may think your site is a forum. But I really dont know how much i believe this. If two people are talking about a site in a forum, they may mention the site name a few times, but not own or be advetising the site, so google cant really cant that as a vote towards the site being a forum, because its not advertising, its just a linkBut that is like getting of topic again, so to answer your question. Is it relevant, I would sayUse the best Anchor text you can, something that relates to your keywords.Second any link is a good link, but where possible advertise on sites that are relevant to yours. But I would say, best bet is to get listed in a few hundred directories, then post on some forums, follow up with say 25 articles written over a period of 2 months, then just focus heavily on content and getting people who visit / use your site to promote it, however they see fit.Steven D wrote:Steven D wrote:hey its my pleasure guys, i enjoy itIt's a great post.montyauto wrote:Unrelevant links can give you traffics but it would'nt be quality links and it may effect your SERPs.lol you guys really struggle with some of this stuff. I registered my site 3 weeks ago, i dont have 1 relevant link, not a one, im only listed in directories and my link on my signature in the forums.yesterday i listed in position 1 and 10 for my two keywords.I really dont think backlinks are a problem, mine are all PR0's, but I dont have any reciprical links @ all, im to greedy and lazy
