Hi,

I've upgraded to Win2000 SP2 and installled latest MDAC (2.7).

All aspx pages run OK but when .NET comes across ADO.NET code (ie. conn.open() )it gives me this error message:

The .Net Data OLE DB Provider(System.Data.OleDb) requires Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC) version 2.6 or later. Version 2.52.6019.0 was found currently installed.

What is it looking at and why doesn't it see the new MDAC version?

All sugggestion graefully received!

ThanksTry running the Component Checker (free from Microsoft). It will tell you what version of MDAC it thinks is on the machine, and it will also list the versions of all the components. There is probably an old version of a *.dll hanging around somewhere. I think the URL is http://www.microsoft.com/dataThanks for that - I used it today and it told me that 5 dll files are old versions (eg.oledb32.dll).

But where do I get them from? I assumed they would be in the MDAC download. There doesn't seem to be a way of downloading the files individually. Microsoft just directs me to articles about them when I search the site.

Any ideas?I would just download a fresh copy of 2.7, reinstall it, and see if that solves your troubles. Unless you've tried that already.I've re-run the install a few times without success, but I havn't downloaded a fresh copy of 2.7 - I'll try that.

Thanks.
