I have posted many links to my sites in my twitter status.
And as i can see i can also see those status indexed in Google.
But i don't see any back links from twitter in my Google web masters account!
Why is it? twitter links are in nofollow.. Yes, all of the Twitter links are no-follow. Forget them as they are not going to get you help in backlinking. Still Tweets are very helpful. Please let me know how did you see that google indexed your twitter links? Whats that! Just looked,
Out of 7 sites I monitor via Webmaster Tools that are on Twitter, 5 are showing links from their Twitter profile page (or a list page they created) in the links section.
All of them have pretty good PR too.
Only one site has done self promotion tweets. Those aren't showing up in the links section but that might because of the url shortening that Twitter and Twitter clients use. Twitter is about exposure, it won't help like link-building directly but webmasters may link your post they found on twitter and then link to it, which provides links indirectly... Right click the link on Twitter and you will find it No-Follow. So, obviously Twitter doesn't give backlinks.
