I've been trying to get a response on that on different forums. Haven't got an answer yet.
Is using a 1X1 pix transparent gif on the home page considered good, bad, or spam tactic by the search engines. Read what some articles had to say:
Thanks.
JamesI think it's stupid. I have never heard of such stupidity. We work with an internet marketing company that specializes in search engine placement. Don't be fooled by these dumb gimmicks, what gets you good placement is MONEY!It is so bad that it is immoral - and illegal in some contexts. And what do you think that a just God will do to somebody that intentionally makes the world a difficult place for the blind?
Stop trying to cheat. Provide good information, properly marked up in HTML 4.01 (http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/) strict and following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/) and then sit back and let the search engines do their job.
