I am using the old Invision 1.2 board. and I would like to upgrade to the newer version of Invision. Is it possible to move all my info, members and personal info, post, Topics, without having to start over?
Would I have to upload a new version of invision to the server myself and how would I do that?
Is this possible to do and is it worth trying to do?
Some good advice would be helpful.
1.2 is the last free version and is your cpanel

to upgrade you will need to purchse 2.0 from the vendor (IPB)
it will come with install instructions and upgrade information.

Sorry I can't help you as I will not buy it.
As Don says, the new version is no longer free.

I believe that you can get the Invision people to install it for you for a fee if you are unable to do it yourself.
thanks for the response. I will look into Invision. If I choose to upgrade, Is it possible to transfer all my info, members and personal info, post, Topics, without having to start over? Thanks
1.3.1 was the last free version and either used the same database or had an upgrade script with it. I believe 1.3.1 is offered in cPanel.
I would imagine you could. It would be quite a bad move for them if they didn't allow some upgrade path.

Second I am sure that they will migrate since this forum used to be version 1.3Final before version 2 came out. And nobody had to resubscribe and no posts were lost.
I do believe they offer a trial version of 2 on their website with but you are supposed to stop using it after 30 days or pay for it
