Hey everyone,I started my website in jan and had 85 unique sites that month.9 months later I have grown and am getting really excited. On average I have increased traffic monthly. This month of september thoug has been wierd.Usually I was getting about 160 to 200 unigue sites a day.In the last 3 days though the numbers have gone through the roof.on the 19th I had 130 uniqueson the 20th I had 356 uniqueson the 21st I had 772 uniqueson the 22nd I had 879 uniquesMy question is am I misinterpreting these numbers.I havent done anything different and the keywords I trackhavent changed much. These numbers are blowing me away. Here is a link to my stats page.If anyone could take a look and tell mewhat I am really looking at that would be great.http://www.floridafishandhunt.com/logs/Thanks,DougBy the way I am sick of hurricanes!I have same problem. I need to know how to seperate spiders from unique visitors in the AWstats web log.Are you noticing an increase in leads/sales that are in line with the increase in "possible" visitors? Otherwise, are you able to track individual keyword searches to your site? If so, you may want to check if you have gotten a positioning boost in one or a few of your keywords.too be honest i wouldnt concern myself with why, just be happy and look at improving even more.Could theese have anything to do with it ? theese are from your top 15 user agents each month (months with no bots excluded)Quote:I would have a look at your stats to see where all this traffic is coming from.I use awstats and i find it great as it seperates the bots from real actual visitors. It also tells you what the top referring keywords from SE's are.It is free so maybe you should look at installing it on your server.lol i am happy with this problem if you consider it as problem.By the beginning of this month the visitors also the sales are doubled within our services too and i am sure that its happening because of peoples are turning to their usual jobs from their yearly holiday and start to get more busy with their yearly services renewings... such as hosting I noticed this activity at the last year at this times but not as much as this one. I think the Net population have grown much more than last year.Jess wrote:Thats a very good point, by finding out what is causing this increase you can then use it for other future sites and keep increasing your traffic on your current one.joebert wrote:cdx wrote:Living in Florida I don't know why I diddn't think about this earlier..I bet there is alot of people looking for information on fishing in Florida & just Florida in genneral due to all of the hurricanes we've had this year.Maybe not the residents as much, but think of all the "snowbirds" that own winter homes here in Florida.Yeah, if you've got a lot of Florida residents on your forum chatting about the hurricanes, then that could be boosting you. Have you noticed an unusually high amount of reads on any threads recently?Hurricane Charley/Frances/Ivan/Jeanne have been some of the top ranking search phrases over the past 6 weeks or so.Thats the thing guys and girls,I havent had a real increase in poeple becoming members of my forum.I would figure that is that many more people were coming to the site.I would have a lot of new joins. After reading all of this I would bet it is just all of the crawling that is blowing up the numbers. Thanks for all of the input.I need to jet I have to secure a few more objects in my yard and cook the kids a HUGE breakfast. We are about to get nailed by yet another hurricane. Jeanne! Pray for us.DougI hate not having power for weeks at a time.i would say that you guys have a valid point - florida is watched by millions around the world right now. somehow your site must have been appearing in serps when visitors are searching for floridian news....
