to Frame or not to Frame?

I've always hated frames.. It used to be that back in the day, certain browsers couldn't support it. But now, practically all browsers can support them. And yet.. I still don't use them.

I was helping a friend the other day create a site and he wanted to use frames. I shuddered at the thought of it and told him "absolutely not!"
He then asked, "why not?"
I stopped myself.. and couldn't say anything in return.

Maybe I was just plain clueless or maybe I liked sticking to my old ways..

Does a reason still exist for not using frames??
Would YOU use frames??Id use Iframes but not frames

frames cause to many probsI'd use a
and CSS combination.iframes.. i seem to be waaay behind on things... :eek:Frames suck. Here's a few reasons why:

1 - They are bad for you search engine ranking. Individual frame pages get logged, leaving users without the rest of the frameset when they visit these pages. Often times, the frames they don't have are necessary for navigation.

2 - Along the same lines, what if a user wants to bookmark an individual page?

Just say no! :pOnly used frames once, never used it again. I have used iframes recentlyI used to use frame but now i uses divs and css.Only once did I ever use frames... But that was before I saw the light. To this day I use CSS, and I have never looked back. I am a better man because of it. :D

Point: CSS is the future, don't ignore it.Check out the ongoing discussion / tutorial on this subject here: http://forums.webdeveloper.com/showthre ... adid=22864. />
