Here's my dilemma. I am spending a lot of time creating content I consider unique, but how do I get people to see it in order to link to it? It's sort of a catch-22, no? Thanks so much for the pointers! I just want you to know that since I found this site I've been reading the first thread you referenced every day and have put many of the ideas there into action. I'm still waiting to see results, but as you say patience is needed .

We'd love to know about the results as they come about. Ahh, results. That's another area in SEO I'm having a hard time getting a handle on. It's difficult to monitor cause and effect directly, it sometimes seems so arbitrary that I lose the will to do more SEO . But what else is there? Gotta get the word out somehow!
One of the main lessons I learned is content, content, content, and so I've been adding content every day. I've also used backlink checkers such as Yahoo site explorer to see where competitors are linking and have been able to get some pretty easy links that way.
I also submit articles with deep links at the end and yesterday one was published. Hooray!
