This topic is to discuss several questions about the Dot com Boom.
As we all know the Dot com boom came when almost everyone started scavenging for Dot com names that were three lettered, or catchy, or had some dictionary meaning in them, single word domains etc.
The Dot com boom was the storm that took everything with it, till the last drop of water. Many Many domains were registered at this time, and some of the investments at that time yielded awesome results for the buyers, their domains went for many times more then what they bought them for.
But with all the pro's for the people who bought these domains, there were many cons, a lot of people did not get what they wanted for their domains, some domains were not even acknowledged, some words were not gone after. Therefore it left quite a large amount of people who invested in these domains, disappointed.
Still, that time when the landrush was trapping every other thing that fell into its criteria of swallowing, there was a thrill and there was this boom.
So people, here I am, asking a few questions from all of you to be answered in this topic, please state complete reasons as to why your answer
Will there be anything like the Dot com boom again?
Do you believe the Dot com landrush turned out to be a success for investors?
Why didn't such a landrush happen with any other TLDs?
Finally, is the Dot Com Boom over yet?
My Answers
(1) I personally dont believe there can be anything like the dot com boom again because of the fact that it was the first time the people thought it was a great investment to go for, but now the people are much more understanding about the possible consequences etc.
Yes, the dot com boom was a success for those who invested in the domain names, because the values of their $10 domains are nearly around Thousands today
It was because, .com was the pioneer and the pioneer is the one that takes all the profit if well publicized, and that was the case with .com
I believe the Dot com Boom is over, the aftermath is over, now is the time for the investors to yield from their investments
