the cookie thing !

Ok, so i have read for a few days, tried everything from left to right Now I know I read too much stuff, and Im not sure what to do anymore.

I have a server, shared hosting, linux.
Domain name junkswap.ca

I added 5 subdomains about cities,
city1.junkswap.ca
city2.junkswap.ca
and so on.

each has their own folder on the server, and has a vb installed with database for each as well.

I can log in and out no problem with
junkswap.ca
city1.junkswap.ca
which are the first one.

cookie "/"
cookie domain ".junkswap.ca"
allowed referrers "junkswap.ca","city1.junkswap.ca"

then added other cities but cannot manage to login, it says "thank you for logging in" but then returns to a non logged in screen.

cookie "/"
cookie domain ".junkswap.ca"
allowed referrers "junkswap.ca","city2.junkswap.ca"

what am I missing ?

Keep in mind, over 3 days of reading, I have tried many things.
Also always cleared my cookies and so forth between tries.

thank you very much for the fast reply.

Guess i will keep trying a combination of settings.

I just used the tools.php to reset my paths and all, cleared my cookies and i can login in all 3. BUT only until session timout, then i have to do the whole process again.

Will work around the settings with your added configuration,

edit : do you suggest I keep the rest blank and ONLY fill in the path ?
or should my domain and referrers be filled as well ?
