is there a way to put text over a picture in HTML?
i've noticed that when i put the text on the picture in photoshop, the quality of the text is lower.

NOTE: i want the text to always be over the picture, not like a mouse over.

thanks,
use table/cell backgrounds, or use layers (not incredibly backwards-compatible).
hit me with an e-mail if you want the long answer (i.e., and explanation of how to actually do either)Originally posted by clabber
i've noticed that when i put the text on the picture in photoshop, the quality of the text is lower.i should also mention that Photoshop gives you some leeway as far as how you want your text anti-aliased ("de-jaggied"), which is why your text isn't quite as clear as it could be. some fonts anti-alias better than others, too.actually, the HTMLGoodies tutorial is better than what i could ever say about it, although the second example doesn't work. take a look at the source. he uses the same z position twice!
