Note that most V7n members are expert in SEO and know these tips. Are you sure with ONLY doing article submission, link building and Squidoo able to make your site rank #1 for the popular keyword? I've been reading the forum alot recently and there are more and more "newbies" posting here on a daily basis and everyone is rehashing the same information over and over again

No doubt merely with above mentioned tricks a site based on less competitive keywords may appear in the better position of search results. But if we talk about the highly competitive keywords, only article submission, link building and squidoo can't help you that much. For better SERP you will have to work on keeping seo practices in mind say, on page optimization, directory submission and social media. Now a days Search engines are behaving based on the user preferences on Social sites like facebook and twitter.
